Local Scaffolding Ltd scaffold providing roof access in Cambridgeshire
Built around solar work

A scaffold that works the way solar jobs do

Fitting solar panels means working across a whole roof slope, with panels and equipment that need lifting up there. We set our scaffold up with that in mind - positioned and at a height that gives the installation team easy access onto the roof, and room to get the panels up safely.

We're a family-run team based in Hemingford Grey, just off the A14, working alongside solar installers across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas. We get on site quickly, and once the panels are in and tested we come back to take the scaffold down, usually within a few days of the solar work finishing.

Whether it's a single home, a commercial unit or an industrial roof, every quote is free and comes with no obligation. Give us a call and we'll talk through what your project needs in plain English.

What we cover

Solar access on every kind of roof

Solar panels go up on all sorts of buildings. Whatever the property, we provide the scaffold the installers need to work safely.

Domestic solar installs

Access for solar panels on houses and bungalows. We build to suit your roofline so the installation team can reach the whole slope safely.

Commercial rooftops

Scaffold access for solar arrays on shops, offices and other commercial premises, planned around the building and the working day.

Industrial roofs

Larger solar projects on warehouse and factory roofs. We provide access built for bigger spans and heavier working loads.

Panel maintenance and repairs

Solar panels sometimes need cleaning, checking or repair work. We can put up access for maintenance visits as well as new installs.

Working with solar installers

We coordinate with your chosen installer so the scaffold is ready for their date, set at a height that gives them easy access onto the roof.

Quick takedown when you're done

The scaffold stays up while the panels are tested, then we come back to take it down fast - usually within a few days of the solar work finishing.

Our CISRS-certified scaffolders get on site quickly and set the scaffold at the right height and position, so the solar team can get panels up and onto the roof easily.

Common questions

Solar panel scaffolding, answered simply

If you've got a question we haven't covered here, give us a call. We're happy to talk it through.

Most solar installs involve working across a roof slope, and a scaffold gives the installation team a safe, stable platform to work from. Your solar installer will usually advise on the access needed, and we're happy to talk it through with you or with them directly.

Yes - we're a natural fit for solar companies. We coordinate directly with whichever installer you've chosen, get the scaffold up and ready for their date, set it at a height that gives them easy roof access, and come back quickly to take it down once they're finished.

Yes. Getting panels up to the roof sometimes needs a rope and wheel or a winch. We'll talk through what your install needs, and if it does we can provide that and include it in your quote.

It stays up while the panels are fitted and tested. As soon as the solar work is signed off, we come back to take it down - usually within a few days. We don't leave scaffold standing longer than the job needs.

Only if any part of the scaffold sits on the public pavement or road. If it's all on your own land, no licence is needed. If the council does need to be involved, we'll let you know during the site visit and explain what's needed.

Yes. We hold full public liability and employer's liability insurance, and our scaffolders are CISRS and CSCS certified. Your property and the installation team are properly covered.
